Good news, tickets for the preschool nativity play are on sale at £3.50 each which includes refreshments. The nativity will be held at the Village School on Sunday 4 December at 10.15am. Tickets are limited to 2 per family but more tickets may become available w/c Monday 28th November so please ask the staff if you would like more. Looking forward to seeing you all.
We’ve lots of exciting events coming up at preschool starting with… a Halloween day on the morning of Friday 28th October! Please dress your child in a Halloween outfit for lots of fun activities and a Jabberjacks session.
Our Christmas Nativity is on Sunday 4th December at the Village School hall from 10am until 12.00.
We will also have stalls at the Village School Christmas fair on 25th November from 4pm – 6pm and at the Village Hall Christmas fair on 3rd December from 2pm – 4pm.
We’re going to be busy!

Learning Journeys have grown in popularity over the last decade, offering early years settings a way to record the special moments of their children, and to keep parents involved in a partnership as their children blossom and grow.
We are pleased to announce that we are starting this year to use Tapestry, an online Learning Journey, to record all our observations during the year. The web address is www.tapestry.info/ if you wish to have an understanding of what it’s all about.
Tapestry is an online Learning Journey that provides us with an instant way of recording any observations and special moments your child has at Pre-school. Each child will have their own Learning Journey which only their parent/carer can access and look at. It will be password protected. Parents/Carers will be able to add their own photographs and comments on to their child’s learning journey from home and when an observation is made at Preschool parents/carers will be sent an e-mail notifying them.
We will provide you with more information about Tapestry via email on September 8th and also we will give you an Introductory Booklet – please don’t forget to ask for one!
This important email information will contain a personal activation code which will allow you to access your child’s Learning Journey. Once you have activated the account you will be able to change the Password and User name to your own personal preference. Please note you will need to do this within 24hrs.
During your child’s time at Preschool you will receive notification emails which will tell you when an observation has been made on Tapestry for you to view.
We are very excited about this new venture and hope you will support us with this!

Welcome back, we hope you had a great summer!
Our AGM will be held on Monday 26th September, 2016 at 7.30 pm in the Community Room (next door to the Pre-school room). As a registered charity, the Pre-school is dependent on a voluntary management committee for the overall running of the Pre-school. If you would like to join us for the AGM, we would be delighted to see you. If you are interested in joining the committee, you can do so at the meeting or by contacting Jane Hughes, Setting Manager. We hold committee meetings once per month. See you there!
All children are invited to our end of term party on Thursday 14th July 10 – 12 noon. There will also be a specially extended Jabberjacks session!
Please bring lunch on a named plate and provide a named drink for our party lunch. Please let Jane or one of the staff know if your child is attending.
Dates to note – we break up on Friday 15th July and return to Preschool on Thursday 8th September.

Our parent’s evening for the Rising 5’s only will be held on Thursday 7th July from 3pm. We are looking forward to seeing you all then but if you cannot make this date, please let your child’s key worker know and another suitable time can be arranged. Younger children will receive a “How am I doing?” report.
Our annual Sports Day will be held on Sunday 26th June from 10am – 12 noon on the school field behind the Preschool building. Parents, Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles, Siblings……etc are all welcome to come along. It is a lovely event as well as a fantastic fundraising opportunity for Preschool.
The children will participate in various races. There will be refreshments on sale as well as some fun stalls and great raffle prizes up for grabs. Please bring your own picnic blankets/chairs, to sit on if you so wish.
There will also be a sponsored bike ride following the races which will be a lap of the school field. Please bring bikes/trikes/scooters for the children to ride. Sponsor forms will be sent home with the children.
Such events could not take place without the support of our families and friends. We would be very grateful for donations of the following items;
1/. A bottle for the ‘Bottle Tombola’ this can be any sort of bottle; soft drinks, wine, spirits or even an unwanted bottle of bubble bath or shampoo! It all adds to the fun!
2/. Toys for the ‘Children’s Tombola’ please donate any age appropriate toys or books in good, clean condition.
3/. Cakes for our cake stall. Cup cakes, tray bakes, cake pops, big cakes, little cakes……these are always a big hit on the day. Please being them to Preschool on Friday 24th June or if freshly baked please bring with you on the Sunday morning. Any cakes tins, plates, stands etc please put your name on so we can make sure they are returned safely afterwards.
Finally if anyone would like to help on the day, to set up (from 9am), run a stall and/or stay behind afterwards to help clean up. If you are able to assist in any way please let Jane know at the preschool.
